AIPAC Buying 2008?

If you had been at the Washington convention Center in the nation’s capital over the weekend of March 10-12, you might have been reminded of a pig auction at an old-fashioned down-home country fair somewhere in middle America. However, the “pigs” for sale, in this case, were politicians eager to slop at the trough of some mighty powerful “farmers and ranchers” — some 6,000 of the most politically influential people in America, perhaps even on the face of the entire planet.

The “auction,” you see, was the annual conclave of the American Israel Public affairs Committee (AIPAC), the well-funded and energetic official front-line lobby for Israel. And the politicians — Democrats and Republicans alike — were on hand, eagerly pushing one another aside like swine rushing to their swill even as the AIPAC luminaries were deciding which “swine” to put their money on.

Vice President Dick Cheney was perhaps the “star” of the event, but two Democratic presidential hopefuls, Sens. Barack Obama (Ill.) And Hillary Clinton (N.Y.), made a big splash by hosting what were described as “dueling receptions” for AIPAC’s heavy hitters. It really need not be noted that both Obama and Clinton declared themselves just absolutely devoted to Israel and awfully upset about Iran.

It would be a waste of ink and print space to repeat their shamelessly sycophantic rhetoric, which is standard for every American politician who bows and scrapes before AIPAC and other illegal pro-Israel lobby groups such as the anti-Defamation League (ADL) of B’nai B’rith, the American Jewish Committee and the American Jewish Congress, to name just a few. Gaza’s Tsunami

It’s been reported that at least five Palestinians, including two toddlers, were drowned in a “sewage Tsunami” that hit Gaza strip after a water treatment reservoir burst.  The incident destroyed Umm Naser, a village in the northern section of the coastal Strip.

The sad event coincided with the announcement that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert would have a bi-weekly meeting that will be coordinated with the U.S. government.

Despite claiming, as she usually does in almost all of her previous visits to the Middle East, that her mission’s goal is to revive the deadlocked peace process, the U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, demonstrated once again the unwillingness of Washington to engage in any credible initiative aimed at bringing real peace to the region. Rice delivered Bush’s message of rejecting the democratically elected Hamas, branded by the U.S. as a terrorist organisation for its armed struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Some may find difficulty linking the meaningless political intercourse to the destructive sewage tsunami that hit Palestine- but the two reflect the extent of misery facing the Palestinian population on one hand, and the Western powers’ failure to show humanist or ethical commitment to the Palestinian crisis on the other.

This prevailing negligence towards the occupied and poor nation of Palestine, which has been struggling to secure its liberation from the Israeli occupation for decades, and whose sufferings intensified thanks to the West’s decision to starve the people and cut yearly aid sent to the government, is indeed reflected in the two sad realities Palestinians currently face. Over 3,500 Citizens to Participate in  Border Monitoring Activities

PHOENIX,AZ — This afternoon, Chris Simcox, founder and President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC), along with MCDC Phoenix Area Director Don Goldwater held a press conference in Wesley Bowling Park to announce the MCDC bi-annual thirty day border watch operation, as a message to the nation entitled “Stand Your Ground.”  The border operations are scheduled for the entire month of April and over 3,500 Minutemen volunteers from around the country will participate in the border muster organized throughout the states of California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, New York and New Hampshire.

 “Unfortunately, our nation’s border remains under siege by drug cartels, human smugglers, violent criminals and arms dealers,” stated Chris Simcox, Minuteman Civil Defense Corps President.  “Field agents and supervisors of the United States Border Patrol, as well as ordinary fellow citizens, continue to praise the work of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and have encouraged us to continue our operations in order to shed light on the situation that President Bush and the Congress refuse to recognize.”

 Currently, the Minuteman message of “border security first” has provided growing impetus for the creation of 78 chapters organized nationally at the state and local levels.  MCDC border monitoring activities have led to the apprehension of over 13, 466 illegal entrants since October 2002, and have provided life-saving aid to over 286 illegal entrants.  History has shown that April and October are the busiest times of the year for both illegal crossings and drug trafficking, which the Minuteman observe and report to U.S. Border Patrol agents along the frontier. Sudden Firing of Longtime WJC Exec Explained

World Jewish Congress (WJC) President Edgar Bronfman says he dismissed Rabbi Israel Singer from the organization last week because Singer was taking money without proper authorization or documentation.

Bronfman made the allegations in a March 14 letter to European Jewish Congress President Pierre Besnainou. It came after WJC affiliates in Europe, Latin America and Israel expressed dismay about being notified in a conference call earlier that day that Singer who had held a variety of top positions in the WJC over the past 30 years had been fired.

Singer “helped himself to cash from the WJC office, my cash,” Bronfman wrote in the letter, a copy of which JTA obtained. “We thought we had that all cleared up, and then we discovered that he was playing the same game in Israel, taking cash from the office and never accounting for it.” (…Full Article Here)

“What are you doing putting this stuff out there? You’re killing us!” These were the words of Abraham Foxman, executive director of the infamous Anti-Defamation League, considered by many in the know to be nothing more than a domestic branch of Israel’s intelligence service Mossad. 

According to an explosive piece recently appearing in the online edition of Counterpunch, Foxman shouted this during a sit-down he demanded to have with an unnamed Fox News executive shortly after Sept. 11.

The “stuff” that was causing Foxman so much indigestion that day was a damning, four-part investigative series Fox News had been airing after Sept. 11 dealing with the arrests of several hundred Israeli nationals as well as some of the incriminating circumstances surrounding their activities in the United States.

In particular, it was the story dealing with one group, known to investigators and journalists as the “high fivers,” who, according to an arrest report by the Bergen County Police Department, were “seen by New Jersey residents on Sept. 11 making fun of the World Trade Center ruins and going to extreme lengths to photograph themselves in front of the wreckage.” (more…)

When our American forefathers adopted the Constitution, each congressional district had a small population. Campaigners rode to the villages and towns of their district and truly stumped for votes; that is, they actually stood on a tree stump and made a speech. No one needed powerful special interest groups to finance a campaign because standing on a stump doesn’t cost any money. Members of state legislatures campaigned the same way. To campaign for U.S. Senator one just had to visit the state legislature because it elected U.S. Senators. Again, such campaigning required no money.

Incumbents had no great advantage in campaigns because any challenger had exactly the same opportunity to get his message to the voters.

All that has changed–and America suffers for it.

Make no mistake about it: the present system of lobbying on the national and state level constitutes nothing short of public bribery of elected officials. When a powerful lobby can promise a candidate huge sums of money and perhaps even a windfall job for the lobby after he leaves office – if only he votes their way – it is bribery, pure and simple. Last Sunday in San Francisco, the Anti-Defamation League sponsored “Finding Our Voice,” a conference designed to help Jews recognize and confront the “new anti-Semitism.” For me, it was ironic. Ten days before, my own voice was silenced by fellow Jews.

I was to give a talk about our Middle East policy to high school students at the Harker School in San Jose. With one day to go, my contact there called to say my appearance had been canceled. He was apologetic and upset. He expected the talk would be intellectually stimulating and intriguing for students. But, he said, “a certain community of parents” complained to the headmaster. He added, without divulging details, that the Jewish Community Relations Council of Silicon Valley had played a role. (more…)

The struggle for freedom of speech continues in Germany and Europe

Sylvia Stolz, the courageous lawyer for Ernst Zundel. has now been charged by the German government with “denying the Holocaust.”

The German government’s efforts to repress freedom of speech, opinion, and conscience have reached new depths. In Germany, expressing any disagreement with any aspect of the officially-sanctioned Holocaust story is punishable by imprisonment. Last month Ernst Zundel, a non-violent 67 year old resident of Canada and the United States, was sentenced to five years in prison for simply expressing opinions that differ with the “official position” of prominent Jewish Holocaust promoters and the German government. Such imprisonment is of course a mockery of the principle of the “free speech” claimed by Europe and the United States.

The Associated Press reported:

Prosecutors said they are seeking a ban on Stolz working as a lawyer.

“This foreign occupation seems threatened and insulted,” Stolz said. “So telling the truth is prosecuted for slander and the people who speak the truth are silenced, whether they’re attorneys, doctors, engineers or any other profession.”

In Germany, not only have authorities imprisoned thousands for expressing their opinions, they are also acting to deny the fundamental rights of the accused. (more…)

Suspicious Naval Incident to Incite War on Iran

Iran is now being accused of kidnapping British sailors. The US was drawn into the Vietnam War thanks to a phony naval incident in the Gulf of Tonkin –an event the neocons may be attempting to duplicate in the Persian Gulf. A recent news article reports “Diplomats struggled Friday to resolve a standoff prompted by Iran’s seizure of 15 British sailors and marines in the volatile, oil-rich Persian Gulf as a vote neared on U.N. sanctions that would punish the Islamic Republic for its nuclear enrichment program. The Royal Navy personnel, traveling in high-speed inflatable rafts through the crowded waters off the Iranian and Iraqi coasts, had just inspected an Iranian-flagged dhow for contraband Friday morning when they were surrounded by Islamic Revolutionary Guard gunboats, detained and taken to a nearby Iranian military base. Iran said the Britons were being held for violating its territorial waters. British and American military officials insisted that the Iranian gunships had crossed into Iraqi waters.”

Given the nearly infinite tendency to lie by both the Bush and Blair regimes, it’s a safe bet that the Iranians are telling the truth. The president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad canceled a planned trip to speak in front of the UN in regards to Iran’s nuclear energy program. The timing of this incident was clearly intended to make Iran look bad just as Ahmadinejad was scheduled to appear before the UN. Iran has the right to arrest anyone who trespasses into their territorial waters. The neocons are fully capable of “sacrificing” a few sailors to create a case for war. Ahmadinejad was going to give a speech at the UN to counter months of neocon lies, this latest incident seems tailor-made to fan the flames of war and to drown out the truth. (more…)

The Conservatism of Fools: A Response to John Derbyshire (1)

This is a response to a review by John Derbyshire of my book, The Culture of Critique, that appeared in The American Conservative. In an earlier article, Derbyshire described himself as philo-Semite who traces his attitudes on Jews to his pleasant childhood memories of a local Jewish family and “the numberless kindnesses that I have received at the hands of Jews, friendships I treasure and lessons I have learnt. I cherish those recollections.”3

I find myself now, in middle age, with complicated and sometimes self-contradictory feelings about the Jews. Those early impressions — culture, wit, intelligence, kindness, and hospitality — are still dominant, and I have read enough to know what a stupendous debt our civilization owes to the Jews. At the same time, there are aspects of distinctly Jewish ways of thinking that I dislike very much. The world-perfecting idealism, for example, that is rooted in the most fundamental premises of Judaism, has, it seems to me, done great harm in the modern age…. I also find the theories of Kevin Macdonald (The Culture of Critique) about the partly malign influence of Jews on modern American culture very persuasive — though this is not an endorsement of Macdonald’s theory of “group evolutionary strategies” which I do not understand. And like (I suppose) every other Gentile, I have often been irritated by Jewish sensibilities, and occasionally angered by them.4

These earlier comments on The Culture of Critique appeared in April, 2001. Derbyshire’s evaluation of the book (and its author) has changed a bit, perhaps because the edition reviewed in The American Conservative contains a new preface that tilts the balance in my writing even more on the side of the negative. About the proposed EU Holocaust Denial Law

If the EU is going to craft new ‘Holocaust Denial’ legislation, surely it must first be defined. Mainly it is used to label those who, in the opinion of the one using the term, minimize the suffering of Jewish Holocaust victims and thereby foster the potential for future state-organized mass murder. The imagery of the über-industrial Holocaust is so gut-wrenchingly horrific that anyone challenging the story is deemed criminally guilty of intent to incite racial hatred or civic disorder.

The subjectivity involved in evaluating intent explains the many glaring examples of double standards surrounding the ‘holocaust denial’ controversy. For example: the ‘establishment’ historian Raul Hilberg states that the number of those murdered in Auschwitz was not four but one million, whilst the total number of Jews who died in WW II was not six but five million. When he makes such revisions, this is not considered ‘denial’. Yet when an ‘unapproved’ historian such as David Irving cites the same figures or, for example, that the gas chamber at Auschwitz is a post-war Soviet construction, during his trial in Austria he was not allowed to bring in the Auschwitz director to testify because no question regarding the truth or falsehood of any aspect of the Holocaust was allowed. In most courts where such cases are tried, there is virtually no defense against ‘denial’ accusations even if the revision in question is generally agreed-upon by ‘non-denier’ Holocaust historians. Dear Mr. Gilad Atzmon,

I just read your essay “The Open Society and its Enemies — The Story of Auschwitz” ….I must say, it was rather brilliant. Politics serves as the ulterior motive for a new socio-psychology called “Political Correctness” that drives, among other things, the religion of the Holocaust. This leftist political strategy has been and continues to be the destruction (deconstruction) of Western identity (especially Christian and white racial identity). This strategy serves to facilitate the overall goal of a controllable society and the socialist Utopian dream.

“Political Correctness” serves as the overriding context for the religion of the Holocaust…not the other way around (as you seem to argue). I agree with you for the most part, but here is where we disagree. First, I am not a Jew, and you are. Most Jews, reform, orthodox, atheist or otherwise, have a very strong ethnic identity. You don’t seem to be a very ethnocentric Jew, but even still, your arguments steer clear of the affect of Jewish ethnocentrism on the development of Leftist ideology, political correctness, and the propaganda which has systematically destroyed Western identity, traditions, values, mores, and norms. The more I read his material, the more I believe his greatest talent is his ability to think clearly and then to express it in writing. It would be impossible to agree with all his opinions and certainly not with his political affiliations, but on a number of subjects he speaks far more honestly than any mainstream politician, Jew or Gentile. I would disagree with his use of “right wing” to describe American policy in the Mideast and elsewhere. Don’t the Jewish Neocon leaders themselves have a Communist heritage, enough that they actually used to refer to themselves openly as “Trotskyites?” Right and Left, Communist and Capitalist has really lost its meaning in the modern world. It has probably been that way since one of the world’s richest capitalists, a radical Jewish Zionist named Jacob Schiff, financed the Judeo-Bolshevik revolution in Russia. But he is so right about how Auschwitz and the entire Holocaust narrative is the primary weapon used against not only the survival of the Palestinian people, but the European people as well. To quote him:

The European mainstream left is totally dependent on the Holocaust narrative and the Auschwitz tale. Ironically, he has been charged under a Navy statute that says no person in the Navy shall participate in any “supremacist organization.” To criticize Jewish supremacism is called “supremacism.” To criticize Israeli terrorism against the United States, such as against the USS Liberty, a U.S. Navy ship and crew, is called criminal. To criticize Israeli spying on the United States, such as in the Jonathan Pollard case, or the current case with AIPAC officials, is called a criminal act and subject to discipline in the armed forces of the United States. It is time to stand up and challenge the Neocon traitors who have led Americans to slaughter in Iraq, not for America, but for Israel, in a war that is actually against the United States of America. The Iraq War not only has killed or maimed 30,000 Americans, it has in every way harmed the interests of the United States.
