Why is the Peace Movement Silent About AIPAC?

“AIPAC!” was the forceful one-word answer of Congressman Michael Capuano when we asked him, “Why was the Iran clause forbidding war on Iran without Congressional approval taken out of the recent supplemental for the Iraq war funding?” I nearly fell out of my chair at his reply - not because this was news but because of who had just said it. Capuano is a close ally of Nancy Pelosi, her fixer and enforcer. That was last Friday morning when a small delegation from Cambridge and Somerville, MA, were visiting the Congressman, known for his bluntness, as part of the nationwide UFPJ (United For Peace and Justice) home lobbying effort during the Congressional recess.

Later that day, Dennis Kucinich made an appearance at Harvard, where he was asked the same question, the reason for removing the Iran provision. “AIPAC,” I volunteered out loud. Kucinich looked my way and said, “Exactly.” Again my chair almost failed to contain me.

A few weeks earlier we had gone to the offices of Senators Kennedy and then Kerry to discuss the war. (My intention was to call their attention to http://www.filibusterforpeace.org/ to which the Kennedy aide was sympathetic and the Kerry aide predictably hostile.) I raised the question of AIPAC directly with Kerry’s aide, inquiring about its hawkish influence on Kerry and other Senators. Suddenly the aide was quite engaged. Leaning forward, he said: “That will never be discussed publicly. That will never be discussed publicly.” Clearly even Kerry’s office is unhappy with the pressure that comes from AIPAC.

It is widely acknowledged that the reps and senators are ticked at AIPAC, and their hostility seems to be growing these days. With upwards of 60% of their campaign contributions coming directly or indirectly from the Israel Lobby, the Democratic congressmen are not free to respond to their antiwar base. This opens them to an antiwar electoral challenge on the Left or Right from forces not subservient to AIPAC. And that could cost them their next election, a little thing which has them very worked up. Capuano’s cry of “AIPAC” was no simple outburst of candor but a cri de coeur for his career. However, since these organizations are pro-Zionist, they feel that in order to protect the Jewish people they must obscure the role of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith as the culprit behind hate laws worldwide.

To do this, they are creating the mythology that “the homosexual lobby” is the great Satan behind hate laws and the sinister attempt to end free speech.

Truth is the best way to deal with incipient mythologies. Yes, evangelicals, it’s time to fight hate laws as if our lives literally depend upon it. Yet, let’s not turn to half-truths and lies, thinking such are necessary to protect God’s chosen people or to solicit the broad support we need. The fact is, a century of half-truths and lies concerning matters Jewish has brought us to national crisis.

Hillary Picks La Raza Leader As Campaign Co Chair

The former president of an extremist group that organized many of the country’s disruptive pro-illegal immigration marches and advocates the return of the American Southwest to Mexico will co-chair Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Best known for his radical pro Chicano work during 30 years as president of the National Council of La Raza, Raul Yzaguirre is being promoted by the Clinton campaign as a prominent Hispanic activist who will lead the New York senator’s outreach to Hispanic voters.

The reality is that Yzaguirre alienates many American citizens of Hispanic descent (in other words, those qualified to vote) with his so-called La Raza rhetoric, which has been repeatedly labeled racist.

The National Council of La Raza describes itself as the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, but it caters to the radical Chicano movement that says California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas belong to Aztlan.

The takeover plan is referred to as the “reconquista” of the Western U.S. and it features ethnic cleansing of Americans, Europeans, Africans and Asians once the area is taken back and converted to Aztlan. (….Full Article Here)

The Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky has told the Guardian he is plotting the violent overthrow of President Putin from his base in Britain after forging close contacts with members of Russia’s ruling elite.

In comments which appear calculated to enrage the Kremlin, and which will further inflame relations between London and Moscow, the multimillionaire claimed he was already bankrolling people close to the president who are conspiring to mount a palace coup.

“We need to use force to change this regime,” he said. “It isn’t possible to change this regime through democratic means. There can be no change without force, pressure.” Asked if he was effectively fomenting a revolution, he said: “You are absolutely correct.”

Although Mr Berezovsky, with an estimated fortune of £850m, may have the means to finance such a plot, and although he enjoyed enormous political influence in Russia before being forced into exile, he said he could not provide details to back up his claims because the information was too sensitive. In the months leading up to President Bush’s ill-fated invasion of Iraq, I traveled around the world speaking to various international groups, including many parliamentary assemblies. I spoke about democracy and the need of any nation or group of nations espousing democracy as a standard to embrace the ideals and values of justice and due process in accordance with the rule of law. I spoke of international law, especially as it was manifested in the charter of the United Nations (a document signed and adopted by all of the countries I visited).Invariably, my presentation focused on the nation in question, whether it was Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Japan or Great Britain, and the status of its relationship with the United States. As an American, I said, I appreciated each nation’s embrace of the United States as a friend and ally. However, as a strong believer in the rule of law, I deplored the trend among America’s so-called friends to facilitate a needless confrontation which would severely harm the U.S. in the long run. These nations were hesitant to stand up to the United States even though they knew the course of action planned for Iraq was wrong.

Such permissive submission was deplorable, and invariably led to a comment from me about the status of genuine sovereignty in the face of American imperial power. If a nation was incapable of defending its sovereign values and interests, then it should simply acknowledge its status as a colony of the United States, pull down its disgraced national flag and raise the Stars and Stripes. Zundel Challenges Judges in Bid for Rehearing

Cincinnati, Ohio - Two of three judges who denied his federal court appeal should voluntarily disqualify themselves because of improper associations with his federal government adversary, maverick publisher Ernst Zundel says in a petition filed April 12 with the U.S. Court of Appeals in Cincinnati seeking a rehearing on his United States habeas corpus case. The court denied his bid for a habeas corpus fact-finding hearing in February 2007.

Zundel, a German national married to a United States citizen but currently jailed in Germany, is asking for either a rehearing by a new three-judge panel because of bias, or a rehearing en banc by a larger group of judges because of the critical constitutional issues his case raises, says his California attorney, Bruce Leichty.

In his request for rehearing Zundel asserts that the three-judge panel which denied his appeal failed to address his argument that his habeas rights had been unconstitutionally suspended, and failed to address the implications of “converting” his appeal into a petition for review under the REAL ID Act of 2006. Breaking News — All Remaining Charges Against Duke Lacrosse Players are Dropped

For over a year the Duke Lacrosse Team and White America suffered blatant racism by the criminal justice system and the media. The stripper/prostitute accuser had “genetic material” from a five different men on her underwear but not a strand of DNA came from any Duke Lacrosse team member. Yet, this exonerating evidence was hidden from the public for months and the media went on a year long anti-White campaign saying that the crime exposed the racism of White America. The long-overdue admission that the charges were completely bogus proves the pervasive racism that exists in America against White people.

Now that that the lies about this fake crime are finally exposed, when is the national media going to breathe one word about the brutal torture, rape and murder of a University of Tennessee White couple by 5 Blacks in Knoxville? When will the media in America become truly “news media” and not propaganda organs? When will they tell the truth about the massive numbers of hate crimes against Whites? Idaho Nixes ‘North American Union’
Thirteen states join Idaho lawmakers to stop globalist plan for the Americas

THE STATES WHICH, ONCE UPON A TIME, created the federal government under the Constitution are trying to give their arrogant “offspring” some direction. But over the long haul, the very-wealthy and well-connected, through their media empire, think tanks, foundations, banking schemes, lobbying outfits and other means, have led that offspring astray, severely corrupting it while sharply eclipsing the average person’s influence on the federal government.

Stepping up to the plate, Idaho has now become the first state to pass a legislative resolution, House Joint Memorial No. 5, in an effort to direct the U.S. Congress to drop out of the North American Union, or NAU—a proposed economic-political merger of the United States, Mexico and Canada. The resolution also calls on Congress to withdraw from any further participation in the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America, an initiative designed to lay the groundwork for the NAU.

The NAU is approximately modeled after the European Union, or EU, which is comprised of formerly independent nations and is largely ruled by a centralized bureaucracy in Brussels.

The 13 states besides Idaho urging Congress to nix the NAU/SPP are: Georgia, Arizona, Missouri, Illinois, Oregon, Montana, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington and Virginia. (more…)

Comparing the Duke Lacrosse Team “Rape” Coverage to the torture, rape and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom

For more than a year the District Attorney in the area of Duke University accused members of the Lacrosse team of a rape against an African American woman who happened to be a stripper, drug addict and prostitute. The politically-minded prosecutor clearly committed the felonious crime of obstruction of justice as he hid exculpatory forensic evidence absolving the boys of any crime. After months of scandalous news coverage and universal condemnation against the Lacrosse team and Duke, the cases were dropped.

Because this incident concerned alleged White perpetrators and an alleged Black victim, the prosecutor felt he had a right to criminally obstruct justice to the point of jailing some young college men for a crime they did not commit. The controlled media used this incident to expose alleged White racism and White hate crimes against non-Whites. The Duke university Lacrosse “rape” story grew to the point where there is hardly a person in America, Canada or even Europe or Australia who has not heard of the case. In literally thousands of articles the media shamelessly brought an anti-White race angle into the case. The chronic theme was “White boys from decent families assault poor Black woman.” In a lynch mob atmosphere, eighty-eight Duke University faculty members signed a letter calling for the punishment of the boys even before the investigation was completed. Vigilante posters picturing the Lacrosse team appeared all over the Duke campus. To quote the faculty letter:

The lacrosse team… may well feel they can claim innocence and sport their disgraced jerseys on campus, safe under the cover of silent whiteness. But where is the black woman who their violence and raucous witness injured for life?

Harvard Law Professor Works to Disrupt Tenure Bid of Longtime Nemesis at DePaul U.

The highly public feud between Norman G. Finkelstein of DePaul University and Harvard Law School’s Alan M. Dershowitz has taken an unusual procedural twist, with Mr. Dershowitz attempting to weigh in on Mr. Finkelstein’s bid for tenure at DePaul.

How Mr. Dershowitz’s move will play out remains to be seen. Mr. Finkelstein’s department supported his tenure bid, but the dean of his college has refused to support him. A final decision is expected next month.

There’s no love lost between Mr. Finkelstein, an assistant professor of political science, and Mr. Dershowitz, a law professor. The two scholars have attacked each other repeatedly in the past few years, hurling accusations of plagiarism and polemicism at one another.

They’ve taken adversarial stances on such issues as the Israel lobby, anti-Semitism, and what Mr. Finkelstein terms “the Holocaust industry.” Mr. Dershowitz threatened to take legal action against the University of California Press if Mr. Finkelstein’s Beyond Chutzpah: On the Misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History (2005) went to print with allegations that Mr. Dershowitz plagiarized portions of his 2003 book The Case for Israel (The Chronicle, July 22, 2005). I share the outrage expressed in the British press over the treatment of our naval personnel accused by Iran of illegally entering their waters. It is a disgrace. We would never dream of treating captives like this - allowing them to smoke cigarettes, for example, even though it has been proven that smoking kills. And as for compelling poor servicewoman Faye Turney to wear a black headscarf, and then allowing the picture to be posted around the world - have the Iranians no concept of civilised behaviour? For God’s sake, what’s wrong with putting a bag over her head? That’s what we do with the Muslims we capture: we put bags over their heads, so it’s hard to breathe. Then it’s perfectly acceptable to take photographs of them and circulate them to the press because the captives can’t be recognised and humiliated in the way these unfortunate British service people are.

It is also unacceptable that these British captives should be made to talk on television and say things that they may regret later. If the Iranians put duct tape over their mouths, like we do to our captives, they wouldn’t be able to talk at all. Of course they’d probably find it even harder to breathe - especially with a bag over their head - but at least they wouldn’t be humiliated.
And what’s all this about allowing the captives to write letters home saying they are all right? It’s time the Iranians fell into line with the rest of the civilised world: they should allow their captives the privacy of solitary confinement. That’s one of the many privileges the US grants to its captives in Guantánamo Bay. (more…)

Shocking Torture, Rape and Murder of White Couple Exposes Racist Media

Most people reading this have never heard the names of the young White couple at the University of Tennessee who were brutally raped, tortured and murdered by five African Americans. They were Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. Practically everyone in America has heard the name of James Byrd, Jr., the African American ex-con who was murdered by three White ex-cons in Jasper, Texas. There have been profiles of Byrd and his murder and the dragging of his body on dozens of national TV programs in America, Canada, and Europe and around the world. His grieving family was interviewed frequently on national news programs and his funeral was attended by leading politicians and dignitaries from all over America and many foreign countries. After Byrd met his death in 1998, the aspects of the murder and the trial of the perpetrators made front page news for almost two years. Since that time hardly a month has gone by without major news stories and commentaries about the Byrd killing. A search of Google News shows that articles still appear about this extremely rare case in which Whites killed a Black. In the Galveston Daily News there was a story on March 9 revealing an opening of a major photo exhibit dealing with the Byrd case.

In the Channon Christian, Christopher Newsom case, a young White couple was kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered. Four Black males and one Black female brutally raped Channon while Christopher was beaten and forced to look on, then the Black attackers cut Christopher’s penis off and he was set afire. The five Blacks beat and raped Channon, sodomized her, forced oral sex upon her, cut off her breasts and poured toxic cleaning fluid down her mouth in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence. Channon’s and Christopher’s body parts were recovered a few days later. (more…)

Rivals are Stealing My Ideas, Says Le Pen

Jean-Marie Le Pen, leader of the far-right National Front, on Wednesday broke with his low-profile strategy to claim his opponents’ efforts to steal his policies on immigration, jobs and security were merely boosting his bid for the French presidency.

Mr Le Pen, who finished second in the 2002 presidential election, told Le Monde that his main rivals – Nicolas Sarkozy and Ségolène Royal – would not gain votes by copying ideas he had preached for years because voters were fed up with the two main parties, the UMP and the Socialists.

“There is a tsunami of rejection of the system that means on the left and right people are saying: ‘This time, sick to the back teeth, I’ll vote Le Pen.’ My opponents who sense this change are trying to run behind me and they make me stronger,” he said.

Ms Royal shocked many in her Socialist party by calling on her supporters to sing the Marseillaise national anthem at her rallies and suggesting people keep a tricolour flag at home to display on Bastille day. (….Full Article Here)
