Senate Could Vote On Hate Bill Now

I was told by Sen. Gordon Smith’s office this morning that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wants a vote on the federal hate crimes bill before Congress adjourns for the summer. That means by the end of this week!

Smith’s spokesman said the hate bill was introduced several weeks ago as an amendment to the military reappropriations bill only to speed up the process. It could be as easily submitted as a stand alone bill anytime Reid can fit it into the Senate’s busy schedule.

Clearly, we do not necessarily have until September to protest the hate bill. We must immediately overwhelm the Senate with calls. Call your Senator NOW at 1-877-851-6437 toll-free or 1-202-225-3121. In Praise of Homogeneity

I have just returned from several weeks in Japan, and am again struck by the forceful example that country offers of the advantages of homogeneity. As the years go by, Japan’s steady record of successes stands in ever greater contrast to America’s failures, and to its inability to think seriously about the kind of country it is becoming. Japan is not without problems, of course, and some are disconcerting by our standards. But the Japanese have a much better chance than we do of surviving into the next century as a coherent, prosperous nation with a culture and civilization it can unmistakably call its own.

Japan is one of the most homogeneous countries on earth. Ethnic Japanese make up 98.5 percent of the population, followed by Koreans and Chinese at 0.5 and 0.4 percent. The largest non-Japanese populations are, therefore, from closely related races and are visually indistinguishable from the majority. Wherever you go in Japan, you are likely to see Japanese and only Japanese.

Japan is at the same time a sound refutation of the view that homogeneity means dull uniformity. (This is the implication, of course, of the common assertion that immigrants have livened up the United States, saving it, presumably, from the suffocating sameness of whiteness). (more…)

Several Jewish organizations criticized the U.S. Senate for failing to move forward on immigration reform. On June 28, the Senate voted not to end the debate over immigration legislation backed by President Bush and members of both parties. “The Jewish community understands well what it means to come to this country to seek freedom and opportunity and be with family members,” said Gideon Aronoff, the president and CEO of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, in a statement following the Senate vote. “This generation of immigrants must not be denied that same opportunity. ”

Similar sentiments were expressed by officials at the American Jewish Committee, the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, an umbrella group that seeks to coordinate positions on public policy among 14 national organizations and more than 100 local Jewish communities. LOD, ISRAEL — Two years ago, Diana Mirtsin and Alexander Skudalov met on the Internet, and soon their romance turned serious.

She was a 29-year-old pharmacy worker from Ukraine. He was a 32-year-old train technician from Uzbekistan. Both had come to Israel as part of the emigration wave from the former Soviet Union. Four months after they started dating, she became pregnant.

But in the face of Israel’s formidable Orthodox religious establishment, their hopes of marrying in the country that gave them citizenship are nearly futile.

Mirtsin is considered Jewish by the Orthodox rabbinate, but Skudalov is not. Like about 300,000 other Israelis — mostly Soviet immigrants — they bump into a closed door on issues of personal status, including marriage and divorce.

Israel’s Sonic Booms Terrify Gaza’s Children

Recent disclosures of the Israeli practice of sonic bombing of the 1.3 million fenced in and captive people in the Gaza Strip may take the award for the meanest trick yet. Israel’s pilots fly made in the USA F-16 Fighters low and fast, deliberately breaking the sound barrier over sleeping people. Gaza is an island of children, four or five per family. Why terror? Because most people in Gaza have seen or felt death by explosive bombing.

America’s churches could end sonic bombing and other deliberate practices of starving and torturing the Palestinians overnight. Religious junkets to Israel are probably Israel’s biggest and most profitable tourist industry. Ending religious tourism in Israel is logical. God would seem to forbid supporting those who torture children, some of whom are Christians. Evangelicals should stop talking about their obligations to Israel long enough to listen to Jesus.

What would Jesus say about terrorizing the little children? The diabolical meanness of the bullyboy, sonic bombers defy comprehension. The children of Gaza are used to being bombed with real bombs that blow off limbs and crush families under the debris. Most children in Gaza know shooting and bombing victims, so the sonic bombings play on the fear that is already present. In my brief and never to be forgotten few days in Gaza city, I saw and heard the sounds of real nighttime assassinations, the bombing launched from right overhead, from USA gifts of Apache helicopters. Federal Judge Blocks Illegal Immigration Laws in Hazleton Pennsylvania

LOU DOBBS: A federal court today ruled that Hazleton, Pennsylvania’s Illegal Immigration Relief Act is unconstitutional.

That law aimed to hold landlords and employers responsible if they did business with illegal aliens. More than 120 communities across the country have passed similar legislation and local laws in the fight against the impact of illegal immigration, a crisis caused by the federal government’s unwillingness to and enforce border security and existing U.S. immigration law.

A federal court ruled that Hazleton’s Illegal Immigration Relief Act is unconstitutional.

“Coup” is the word being widely used to describe what happened in Gaza in June when Hamas militias defeated the armed security forces of Fatah and chased them out of Gaza. But, as so often with the manipulative language used in the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel, the terminology here is backward. Hamas was the legally constituted, democratically elected government of the Palestinians, so in the first place Hamas did not stage a coup but rather was the target of a coup planned against it. Furthermore, the coup — which failed in Gaza but succeeded overall when Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, acting in violation of Palestinian law, cut Gaza adrift, unseated the Palestinian unity government headed by Hamas, and named a new prime minister and cabinet — was the handiwork of the United States and Israel.

The Fatah attacks against Hamas in Gaza were initiated at the whim of, and with arms and training provided by, the United States and Israel. No one seems to be making any secret of this. Immediately after Hamas won legislative elections in January 2006, Elliott Abrams, who runs U.S. policy toward Israel from his senior position on the National Security Council staff, met with a group of Palestinian businessmen and spoke openly of the need for a “hard coup” against Hamas. According to Palestinians who were there, Abrams was “unshakable” in his determination to oust Hamas. When the Palestinians, urging engagement with Hamas instead of confrontation, observed that Abrams’ scheme would bring more suffering and even starvation to Gaza’s already impoverished population, Abrams dismissed their concerns by claiming that it wouldn’t be the fault of the U.S. if that happened.

He’s at it again. The Texas TV preacher John Hagee is choosing sides. Of course, in true Hagee fashion, this fundamentalist lover of all things Jewish, Zionist and Israeli has chosen to turn his back on his own Christian brothers and sisters and instead embrace the most extreme kinds of haters in the American Jewish community. In fact, Hagee is even willing to toss Jesus Christ Himself under the bus to garner favor and ingratiate himself to the moneyed Jews he is so fond of courting. It’s Israel-First and the Christian doctrines held since the Reformation must be crumpled up and thrown away, all to get the Jews smiling and the Jewish money and influence flowing in the direction of Cornerstone Church. It doesn’t hurt that Hagee is the only Gentile to ever receive a humanitarian award from the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith. They know a good commodity when they see one. In fact, it was Jewish-owned religious TV stations that made this man a dispensationalist kingpin.

The Christian Zionist Lie Must Die

At first blush, one could hardly characterize the show of power exhibited by John Hagee’s Christian Zionists at his brash Washington Israel Summit in D.C. last week as a dike about to break: 4500 Christian Zionists filled the Washington Convention Center. Senators and Congressmen kowtowed to the crowd for four days. Senator Lieberman likened Hagee to Moses, a “leader of a multitude.” John Hagee was the dealmaker of the hour for Israel, their political rock star, a political money machine. The mere 15 resistors standing outside would not seem to have made much difference.

But a closer look by religion writer Abe Levy reporting in the San Antonio Express-News, Hagee’s hometown newspaper, shows that the Christian Zionist dike is holding back a surging sea of truth and truth-telling. There are cracks. Cracks Hagee will not be able to contain since they are coming from the very people Hagee claims to be saving from holocausts and persecutions.

The first cracks in this Judeo-Christian dike are a few vocal, and significant, Jews and Rabbis critical of Hagee’s Christians United for Israel (CUFI) movement. They are speaking up now in increasing numbers, sometimes from the Temple lectern on Friday nights. Orthodox, Conservative, Hasidic, and Reform Jews are saying they don’t like what they’re hearing from Hagee, and they don’t trust him.

Levy writes: “This issue deeply divides Jews, some of whom, while they praise Hagee’s work to eradicate anti-Semitism, see him as using them as pawns to fulfill Christian prophecy, including the annihilation of most Jews.” Levy continued: “Many of them believe they are living in the final days described in prophetic books of the Bible and that standing with Israel assures them of being on God’s side when it is all said and done.” (more…)

This past weekend, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama campaigned at a convention of La Raza, the violent racist Mexican hate group that wants to “reconquer” the American southwest for Mexico. Of course, Hillary’s and Barak’s goal is to win the endorsement of La Raza.

Obama told the group he’s already entitled to their endorsement, because he marched in one of those rallies for illegal aliens last year. Well, Obama is Black, so he naturally thinks he’s entitled to everything he wants. But look at what he’s taking pride in – supporting people who are breaking the laws he is sworn to uphold as a United States senator. “Find out how many senators appeared before an immigration rally last year,” he proudly declared, “Who was talking the talk, and who walked the walk — because I walked.” In America, we have a phrase for those who support and assist criminals in the commission of crimes – it’s called aiding and abetting. Anyhow, after bragging about his support for law-breaking illegal aliens, Obama then tried to lay blame for the recent defeat in the Senate of the Immigration Reform Bill, saying the debate “was both ugly and racist in a way we haven’t seen since the struggle for civil rights.” Clinton said she had been struggling “to understand where all of the venom and the incredible anxiety came from” during the debate over the bill. She added that she was “very disappointed, and I was really quite offended by the tone of the debate and some of what was said by outside parties who were trying to influence the debate.”

So, in summary, there was a convention of a violent racist Mexican organization that is determined to take the American southwest away from the United States, by armed conflict if necessary. They gathered on American soil to discuss how to go about making it happen. Among them were the two front-running candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, both of them sitting United States senators who are sworn to defend the United States Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Hagee: Ashamed of Jesus’ Name

To pray or not to pray in Jesus’ name — that question now confronts Christian evangelicals. Increasingly, Jewish activists demand that Jesus’ name go unmentioned in public prayers. They also insist that Christians not witness to Jews. 

Some evangelicals give them what they want. Dr. John Hagee, passionate “Israel-first” televangelist, worked closely with the Jewish lobby to found Christians United for Israel (CUFI). CUFI’s purpose is to unite every evangelical across the nation to “speak and act with one voice in support of Israel .” 

For three days in the Capitol last week, Hagee and an array of political and religious luminaries lavished praise on Israel and the Jewish people during Hagee’s 2nd Annual Israel/Washington, DC Summit. They did so while countless Americans agonized in prayer and concern over impending passage of Kennedy’s hate law amendment. Afterward, conference attendees walked the halls of Congress to lobby not against the hate bill but for Israel . 

Oppressive “hate crime” laws, which evangelicals are beginning to realize will persecute them, were created by Jews–the Anti-Defamation League and B’nai B’rith International. It claims to speak as “the voice of organized world Jewry.” 

Zionism, the government of Israel, ADL/B’nai B’rith, and the global hate laws agenda all have one goal: a global bureaucracy run from Jerusalem which will make it a hate crime for any Gentile, Christian or Arab, to criticize Jews, matters Jewish, or the state of Israel . Frontrunners Under Pressure In Iowa Straw Poll

Of all the preseason games in the run-up to the GOP nomination, none is more crucial than the Iowa Straw Poll.

As usual, it will be held in Ames, on Saturday, Aug. 11.

Analysts have downgraded its importance since McCain and Rudy dropped out. They are mistaken. The McCain-Giuliani forfeiture of the straw poll already testifies to its importance—and to their weaknesses.

Rudy dropped out first. Why? His front-runner image would have been shattered had he been routed at Ames. Rather than risk a beating, Rudy quit. By dropping out, he concedes that, today, he lacks the troops or organization to contest the caucuses in January. And if he doesn’t have them now, when and where does he find them?

Within hours of Rudy’s forfeit, McCain threw in his hand.

With Rudy gone, McCain was not going to be able to beat the mayor, and he faced defeat by Gov. Romney, the Iowa front-runner, and even possible defeat by a second-tier candidate. Since McCain dropped out, the weakness of his candidacy has been exposed, and Giuliani, still the front-runner, has been slowly sinking in national polls.

With Rudy and McCain out, the pressure is on Romney, who must win. But significance now attaches to who runs second in the straw poll. For this is the last, best chance a second-tier candidate–Govs. Mike Huckabee and Tommy Thompson, Sen. Sam Brownback, and Reps. Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul–has to show broad support.

It has been fairly said there are only three tickets out of Iowa: first-class, coach and Greyhound. Gov. Jim Gilmore of Virginia, who had no organization in Iowa, has quit the race. The candidates who do not show strength at Ames will likely be packing it in, awaiting only their matching funds in January to pay off campaign debts. Only Ron Paul among the six has more than a million dollars in cash on hand.

Michael Chertoff: The Man & His Star-Crossed Past

Very few Americans, not directly affected by this man of many faces have no idea, of who really directs the duties of the 180,000 government employees in DHS: Duties that this man now holds in his stained and conflicted hands. It seems that the variety of controversies which have paralleled Michael Chertoff’s meteoric rise in government have been allowed to languish in the shadows for far too long. If the public does not soon become familiar with who their Director of Homeland Security really is-then they may live to regret that oversight.

The details of Michael Chertoff’s personal history should have disqualified him for high office: but instead his nomination for this job was approved without objection by the Senate.

“The Senate voted 98-0 to approve Chertoff on February 15. Chertoff, 51, took the oath of office that night in “a private ceremony at the White House.”

DHS has a $32 billion budget, 180,000 employees, and jurisdiction over immigration, customs and transportation security, the Coast Guard, the Secret Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The question of Chertoff’s dual-nationality doesn’t seem to have concerned a single U.S. senator.

Many have wondered who let the detained suspected Israeli agents go back to Israel, immediately after 911. Apparently it was Michael Chertoff.

“Chertoff allowed scores of suspected Israeli terrorists and spies to quietly return to Israel . In several cases, Israeli suspects working for phoney moving companies, such as Urban Moving Systems from Weehawken, N.J., were caught driving moving vans which tested positive for explosives. On September 14, Dominic Suter, the owner of the moving company, which was found to be a Mossad front company, fled to Israel after FBI agents requested a second interview.

One group of 5 Israelis was seen on the roof of Urban Moving Systems videotaping and celebrating the destruction of the World Trade Center. These Israeli agents were returned to Israel on visa violations.
