If you were looking for a truce in the immigration wars once the Bush-Kennedy amnesty went down to defeat, look again.

Communities, cities, states are passing tough new laws to deal with the 12-20 million illegal aliens in our midst. Town likes Hazleton, Pa., and Farmers Branch, Texas, which sought to punish landlords who rent to and businesses that hire “undocumented workers,” have been hauled before federal judges by the ACLU. Arizona has passed a law to de-certify and close businesses caught hiring illegals twice. Protests have begun over removal of National Guard troops from the border.

The Department of Homeland Security is getting off its posterior to demand that businesses, when told the Social Security numbers of employees do not match Social Security Administration records, clear up the discrepancy in 90 days, or fire the workers, or face stiff fines.

Mitt Romney is raking Rudy Giuliani for maintaining New York’s status as a “sanctuary city,” where cops cannot ask criminal suspects to prove they belong in the country. Failure by New York cops to learn the illegal status of four thugs and deport them enabled them to stay in town, where they kidnapped and sexually assaulted a Queens woman for three hours in a shack near Shea Stadium.

Comes now a blockbuster report by political scientist Robert Putnam, author of the runaway bestseller “Bowling Alone.” Putnam provides supporting fire from Harvard Yard for those who say America needs a time-out from mass immigration, be it legal or illegal, like the immigration moratorium we had from 1924-1965.

“E Pluribus Unum: Diversity and Community in the 21st Century” is the title of Putnam’s five-year study, which makes hash out of the politically correct cliché, “Our diversity is our strength.”

Up to 80 Congressmen Visiting Israel in August

They should just hold their next session in Tel Aviv and do away with the useless formality of meeting on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is spending a week in Israel on a privately funded trip sponsored by the America Israel Education Federation (AIEF), her office announced Wednesday.

The AIEF — the charitable arm of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) — is also the sponsor of a trip to Israel next week by a separate delegation of lawmakers that includes Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn.

Bachmann’s group left for Israel on Sunday. The 21-member delegation, led by Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., has met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, a former prime minister. They are scheduled to meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres today.

The trip marks Bachmann’s second visit to the Middle East, following a recent trip to Iraq and Pakistan.

AIPAC is an influential voice in Washington on behalf of Israel and frequently sponsors congressional trips there.

Along with Bachmann and Ellison, the group is sponsoring trips to Israel in the coming weeks for nearly 40 other Republican and Democratic lawmakers, many of them freshmen.

That’s 21 this week, 20 on Ellison’s trip, and another 40 after them –> over 80 representatives in total.

And that’s just “in the coming weeks.”

Jews Behind ‘The Ten’

Released Friday, The Ten is a movie about “ten blasphemous and hysterical stories inspired by the Biblical ten commandments. ¹ In the film, “Jesus H. Christ” deflowers a sexy virginal librarian; each episode portrays characters preoccupied with doing the opposite of what the Bible commands. The Ten, says Village Voice, is a film “obsessed with prison rape and puppet dicks.”

“This is going to be a very negative attack on faith and values,” says Dr. Ted Baehr, chair of the Christian Film and Television Commission. “It’s very sad society has descended into this attack mode.” 

Is it really “society” that attacks Jesus in this film? Writer and director of The Ten David Wain is a celebrated Jewish comic actor and movie producer.  Including Wain, four of the movie’s five producers, Jonathan Stern, Paul Rudd, and Morris S. Levy, are Jewish. Is it a coincidence that the names of most of the movie’s executive, co-executive producers and technical staff are also Jewish? City Lights Pictures, producer of the film, announced that The Ten was acquired for domestic distribution by THINKFilm, which is owned by Jewish film financier and producer David Bergstein. The film is important enough to also be distributed by W.E.A. Corp., named 2006 Large Distributor of the Year.

The Ten continues an assault of media body slams against Christianity and its values over the past several decades. Jews constitute only 1.5% of Americans yet are responsible for virtually all organized media attacks on Christ. If you find that fact hard to swallow, consider the following.

During Christmas 2005, Jewish-owned CBS aired a primetime Christmas special titled, The Mystery of Christmas. The meaning and impact of Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul’s presidential bid is becoming clearer by the day, as Paul’s “Texas Straight Talk” resonates deeply with a diverse spectrum of Americans and changes the political climate in a way that makes establishment candidates appear dull and unappealing. Pundits and observers reluctantly point out that Paul’s consistent views and adherence to pro-American principles impress voters enough to support him even when they disagree with him on specific issues.

According to Paul himself, in Georgia, Dr. Paul Broun defeated State Sen. John Whitehead in a special election to Congress. How? By sticking to constitutional principles. In other words, the “Ron Paul approach” disarmed a well-funded establishment candidate and allowed a better man to fill a seat in Congress, where constitutionalists are nearly extinct.

“John had all the establishment and money on his side. But Broun discussed obedience to the Constitution, limited government, the failure of the national Republican leadership and a less aggressive foreign policy. And he won. Columnist Robert Novak said this ‘terrified’ all the establishment types in the Republican Party,” said Paul, who had talked to Broun during his campaign and was “thrilled” to congratulate him on his victory.

A Letter from Jim Traficant
“I sent James Traficant a Christmas card a few months ago. I received this reply today”:

Thank you! Thank you for thinking of me and my family. Life is hectic and fast-paced– and for you to have thought of me, and then to stop and take time from your precious life to write me– is an honor. And once again, I thank you! Most of the people who write me say they cannot understand why the government targeted me with such a passion. Every rumor and innuendo that any political opponent would plant and foster became public and, before long, developed into an indictment without any physical evidence– only the testimony of subjects who were able to avoid jail by fabricating falsehoods about me. Lies and half-truths became ‘facts’; and ultimately became a 10 count indictment. My evidence, that would have proved they were lying, was not allowed to be presented — either before the Congress or the Federal Court! However, I know why I was targeted: I was not afraid of the government, and I had learned too much! The beginning of all of this was my first trial, in 1983, when I became the only American in history to defeat the U.S. Department of Justice in a RICO case– pro se (representing myself), and me not being an attorney. They were embarrassed!

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when I proved that John Demanjuk was not the infamous Ivan the Terrible of the Treblinka death camp in Poland. The government was stunned and in shock. The real Ivan was nine years older, taller, and had black hair and a scar on his neck; his name was Ivan Marchenko. My investigation, in conjunction with John Demanjuk’s beautiful family, proved not only that John was innocent, but also that the Justice Department knew he was not guilty– even before they took him to court!

Shame, shame!! They lied to the court– gave false testimony and presented false witnesses– knowing that he would be put to death! Shame!! The Justice Department then came after me with revenge, and a passion! I lost my respect and my faith in our government. Because this case was ‘too sensitive,’ Congress would not even hold a hearing on my evidence… Congress, all of them, at the time– turned their back, worried about reelection!! The Democrats were in charge then, and they knew of my investigation in Congress… hoping I would abandon it! I did not! I sent my findings to the Israeli Supreme Court– and they had no choice: They released John Demanjuk! In fact, they delivered him to me at the airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, and I personally brought him home, along with his son, his son-in-law, and Israeli bodyguards! (more…)

Americans Shout ‘NO!’ To Hate Bill

Last Monday morning a representative of Sen. Gordon Smith (co-sponsor with Kennedy of the federal “anti-hate” bill) told me that if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid got the chance he wanted to pass the hate bill before the Senate disbanded for summer. Reid’s chance didn’t come. A tight-packed legislative calendar may have stopped him from introducing the divisive and time-consuming hate bill.

Also, the American people again protested. By Monday night, I had been interviewed on nine national radio broadcasts, warning that the hate bill might not be delayed till September but might be introduced as early as Tuesday. Quickly, this threat topped discussion on alternative talk radio nationwide.

On Pat Kiley’s “Follow the Money” (90 affiliates) the message went primarily to evangelicals. On the largest talk show website in the world, www.rense.com (15 million visits monthly), as well as Rense’s radio program and its many affiliates, my call to protest was heard by patriots, largely of the religious and “far” right. Prominent voices from alternative talk radio broadcast the threat; they included Jack Blood and Dr. Stanley Monteith of Genesis Radio Network and John Stadtmiller and Rick Adams of the Republic Network.

As a result, thousands of calls reminded senators that Americans don’t want the hate bill and will vote out politicians who approve Orwellian restrictions on freedom.

Unlike several weeks ago (when the evangelical right learned that Sens. Kennedy and Smith were attempting to attach the hate bill to the federal Arms Reappropriations Bill), conservative Christian leaders didn’t join this fight. They were probably concerned that Reid hadn’t made his intentions explicit, nor had the Republican leadership in the Senate. Also, they may have wanted to save evangelicals’ limited powers of protest for a massive push when Congress reconvenes in September.

There was a time when events like the collapse of that bridge over the Mississippi would have been taken in stride.

Yes, it was a tragedy, a mature nation would have said, but like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and bolts of lighting hitting folks on picnic grounds, these are “acts of God.” Even in a good life and a great country, bad things happen.

But today, there has be someone to blame, someone to be held accountable, someone who could have prevented it, someone whose head must go on a pike. And it is the job of the journalist to give us the guilty. And the modern journalist relishes nothing more than standing before a TV camera passing moral judgment on failed mortals.

After Katrina, it was President Bush, who neglected to send in the 82nd Airborne at once, and “Brownie,” the FEMA chief. Yet, all concede Brownie had done “a heckuva job” in the Florida hurricane.

We are now told there are 70,000 bridges in this country that are “structurally deficient,” whatever that means, since collapsing bridges are a rarity. One recalls the crumpling of a slab of the Bay Bridge in San Francisco a few years back, but few others. Yet, a clamor has arisen for hundreds of billions of tax dollars to repair our crumbling infrastructure of roads, sewers, bridges and electrical grids.

Fine, but where are we going to get the money?

We are bust. We consume all we earn. We save nothing. We borrow $2 billion a day to finance our trade deficit and buy all those goods and gadgets at the mall. The Chinese save between 35 percent and 50 percent of all they earn.

The war in Iraq is costing the United States more per month than the Vietnam war cost per month on average over its eight-year term. In real dollars, adjusted for inflation. In a country that has recently deindustrialized itself, and has gone from being the world’s biggest creditor nation to being the world’s biggest debtor nation. In a country that borrows money to pay for consumer goods and not for productive equipment that might pay the costs of borrowing. Trillion-dollar bill (on the rosiest assumptions). Mostly to pay the operating costs of the war (wait for when the Pentagon demands that all its worn-out equipment be replaced). A war that increases the costs of fighting Bibi Netanyahu’s ‘war on terror’. The generals can’t say when it will be over, and no prominent politician of either party is prepared to even discuss a meaningful withdrawal. It is bad manners to officially admit that fighting a war for Israel might be dumb, especially a war that is destabilizing the world’s largest source of hydrocarbons. Both likely Presidential candidates are gung-ho for years more of fighting. The big secret about the strange American devotion to paying the costs of Zionism is that the United States simply can’t afford it. Nixon had to end gold backing for the dollar in order to keep the United States from becoming insolvent over the costs of Vietnam. President Giuliani won’t have anywhere near the same bargaining position when he has to try the same sort of trick. Of course, the right-wingers will use the economic crisis as yet another excuse for belt-tightening, i. e., cutting social programs. What happens when there are no programs left to cut?

‘Mite’ Makes Right

Zionist evangelist says God wants U.S. to attack Iran . . . and suckers to give generously to his pro-Israel church

Thousands of fundamentalist Christians joined atheist Jews in another “solidarity” event that filled the pockets of Israeli flak John Hagee with gold while filling the minds of innocents with the notion that a merciful God endorses aggressive war and mass torture and slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children.

The gruesome message was sent to Congress and the world when Christians United for Israel (CUFI), founded by high-income television evangelist John Hagee, met in Washington July 16-19. CUFI organizers announced that God wants the United States to launch a holy war against Iran to protect Israel and allow further expansion of its borders. No Israeli blood is to spill, only that of Americans.

Hagee works hard to keep his finances under cover but it involves big bucks. In 2003, The San Antonio Express-News investigated Hagee’s filings with the IRS. The newspaper reported that Hagee received millions of dollars in compensation and benefits in 2001 for his church and TV work and had a trust that includes a nearly 8,000 acre, $2.1 million Texas ranch with a mansion and three barns for his horses, cows, servants and limousines.

Embarrassed, Hagee reorganized his holdings in a manner that allowed him to avoid making public filings. In September 2004 he had his Global Evangelism Television re-registered as a church under the name Grace Church of San Antonio. Churches, unlike religious TV companies and other nonprofit groups, are exempt from filing detailed returns with the IRS. A further reorganization moved all assets into Cornerstone Church. None of the church’s financial records are publicly available, yet Hagee said the change was for “greater clarity.” (more…)

As everyone listening should know if they don’t already, the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center are two far-left groups that promote socially destructive ideas under the guise of “tolerance.” Both of these organizations are largely financed through the donations of wealthy contributors, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to discover that they are constantly issuing “Intelligence Reports” and “Threat Assessments” that far exaggerate and sometimes outright invent the danger posed by various groups and individuals. This generates a rather impressive income stream that allows these groups to pose as benevolent forces for civil rights on the one hand, while relentlessly working to criminalize thoughts they don’t like, censor the Internet, put people in jail for honest opinions – such as what their kinsmen in Europe do on a regular basis — and destroy our Second Amendment rights with the other hand. And that’s just for starters.

There are many probable explanations for the ADL’s spiteful behavior, but you can bet that sheer stupidity isn’t one of them. Probably their most powerful motivation is that — if they can stir up even ONE overt anti-Semitic statement or incident, it will enhance their income stream. As a result of its unethical behavior combined with hiding behind the veil of victimology and religion, the Anti Defamation League has probably generated more anti-Semitism than all of the so-called “Nazi” organizations combined. And if the nasty behavior that they undertake in the name of a People who never elected them results in innocent people being harmed, it causes them to gain both income and prominence, not to mention a good nights’ sleep. An Appeal To My Fellow Christians

I have served the Lord as an evangelical Christian all of my adult life. As a Christian, I believe the Bible is the Word of God. I believe Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for my sins, and that He physically rose from the grave. I believe He ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, where He “ever liveth” to make intercession for the saints.

I have had the privilege of winning numerous souls to Christ. As a veteran pastor of more than 30 years, I have had the joy of baptizing many hundreds of converts. I believe in the local church. I believe in missions. I am also an American.

As an American, I revere the history and heritage of this great country. I hold America’s Founding Fathers in deepest regard. I believe the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights set forth the greatest political principles and form of government ever devised my man. I believe in individual freedom, national sovereignty, and states’ rights. Furthermore, I believe that my devotion to God does not, in any way, contradict or conflict with my devotion to my country. In fact, my devotion to God augments my devotion to my country.

I say all of that to say this: it greatly disturbs me to see many of my Christian brethren using their Christianity as an excuse for apathy in regard to the demise of our constitutional republic–as if the maintenance of liberty and independence is not their concern.

The preservation of liberty and independence should concern every American, whether Christian or not. In fact, it appears that many unbelievers show more discernment and resolve in fighting for liberty and independence than do many professing believers. How can this be?

Christians, of all people, should be the first to fight for America’s historic principles, as it was our Christian forebears that carved this land of liberty out of a wilderness of persecution and oppression. Have we become so lazy and indifferent as to be oblivious to what our children and grandchildren will be forced to endure, if we are not willing to preserve this land of freedom? It seems that many of us have become just that.

Vigil at Shiloh Christian Fellowship, Oakland, CA

Eleven stood with us, just the right team for the vigil at the inter-city Shiloh church on July 29, 2007. Contact was close and personal with the crowd in front of Shiloh’s doors. We were well prepared with literature and left about 400 pieces with the many hundreds who attended. God may have been there on the streets of Oakland; I don’t know about inside. Long time friend Jack Utz was there from far away, who also attended a Night to Honor Israel in South Carolina. He described the Vigil as “a church without walls,” exactly what we want each vigil to be.

Numerous church attendees stopped to discuss why we were there. One Sheila commented it was the first protest she had ever seen where there was dialogue. A couple from Rome, Italy, friends of one Vigiler from the neighborhood, stayed to watch and listen, the husband was translating for his wife, both hoping to understand Christian Zionism. They told us that pickets at the Vatican are common.

Every vigil is exciting, bringing butterflies and a a chill of anticipation. As my 17-year-old office assistant H.S. puts it after being a part of one, “it is like going into battle.”

The hint of fear everyone feels is like a battle…being on someone else’s turf, usually outnumbered by a big margin brings some tension, but there is more. How can anyone help but be nervous about confronting people knowing that logic and rational truth will fail with all but a few, and that the group is led on a course that brings needless death every day? We learned there are a hard line few inside every “Shiloh” whose minds are set; that makes us not only their enemy, but enemies of God in their eyes. We know some believe “the only good Arab is a dead Arab,” and will not stop thinking that way no matter what we do.

The Israeli state is trying desperately to foreclose all exceptions to its unequivocally racist land laws

Israel’s parliament last week approved by an overwhelming majority the first reading of a bill to ensure that much of the country’s inhabited land remains accessible to Jewish citizens only — a move described by one leading local newspaper as turning Israel into a “racist Jewish state”.

The private member’s bill, called the Jewish National Fund Law, has received cross-party support. The first reading was approved by 64 legislators, with 16 — most of them Arab MKs — opposed. Supporters ranged from former premiere Binyamin Netanyahu, leader of the Likud Party, to Ami Ayalon, a recent challenger to head the Labour Party.

The legislation is designed to nullify the threat posed by a Supreme Court judgment, reached in 2000, that potentially opens the door to thousands of Arab families leaving the tightly controlled areas assigned to them and choosing where they live. Currently Arab citizens, who comprise a fifth of the population, are barred from buying homes in most of the country.

The move is the latest in a series of battles since Israel’s establishment in 1948 to ensure exclusive Jewish control of land through an international Zionist organisation known as the Jewish National Fund (JNF). By the time of Israel’s founding, the JNF had bought about six per cent of historic Palestine for Jewish settlement. Rather than demanding that these territories be handed over by the JNF, the new state authorities assigned the organisation a special, quasi- governmental status. The JNF was also given a significant share of the lands and property confiscated from hundreds of thousands of Palestinians expelled during the 1948 War.

Some Questions On the Minneapolis Bridge Collapse

A CNN article reports “In 2005, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Bridge Inventory database concluded the (I35 Minneapolis) bridge was ’structurally deficient.’ Minnesota Department of Transportation bridge engineer Dan Dorgan said the term ’structurally deficient’ is a Federal Highway Administration rating. Inspectors rate sections of the bridge on a 1 to 9 scale, with 9 being in excellent condition, he said. ‘A structurally deficient condition is a bridge that would have a rating of 4 either in the deck, the superstructure or the substructure,’ he said. ‘Any one of those in condition 4 or less is considered structurally deficient.’ ”

A recent report on the bridge noted that there were cracks in important main structural elements, which should have led to the bridge being shut down until they were repaired. The extreme temperature range in Minnesota and corrosive salts and anti-icing sprays tend to accelerate corrosion. The Minnesota Department of Transportation was repairing the road surface on the bridge, which was badly worn, but the support structure was in even worse shape. Repairing the road surface is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

This is the second spectacular failure of infra-structure under George W. Bush. Bush diverted money from levee construction around New Orleans for his Iraq War in the years before Katrina. Bush’s Kool Aid-drinking supporters all gave him a pass, repeating the mantra: “No one could have seen that hurricane coming.” Since when are we backward Third World tribesman who can’t plan ahead??? We design buildings to be safe from earthquakes; we can design levees to withstand hurricanes. There was a plan to reinforce and improve the levees. Some people did see a bigger hurricane coming, but Bush didn’t.

The Fear Factor

While fear itself is not always the product of irrationality, once experienced it tends to lead away from reason, especially if the experience is extreme in duration or intensity. When people are fearful they tend to be willing to irrationally surrender their rights.

Thus, fear is a threat to rational liberty. The psychology of fear is an essential component of those who would have us believe we must increasingly rely on the elite who manage the apparatus of the central government.

The statement “Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety” has been attributed to Benjamin Franklin. It is clear, people seek out safety and security when they are in a state of fear, and it is the result of this psychological state that often leads to the surrender of liberty.

As Washington moves towards it summer legislative recess, indications of fear are apparent. Things seem similar to the days before the war in Iraq. Prior to the beginning of the war, several government officials began using phrases like “we don’t want the smoking gun to come in the form of a mushroom cloud,” and they spoke of drone airplanes being sent to our country to do us great harm.
