War Costing $720 Million Each Day, Group Says

The money spent on one day of the Iraq war could buy homes for almost 6,500 families or health care for 423,529 children, or could outfit 1.27 million homes with renewable electricity, according to the American Friends Service Committee, which displayed those statistics on large banners in cities nationwide Thursday and Friday.

The war is costing $720 million a day or $500,000 a minute, according to the group’s analysis of the work of Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Harvard public finance lecturer Linda J. Bilmes.

The estimates made by the group, which opposes the conflict, include not only the immediate costs of war but also ongoing factors such as long-term health care for veterans, interest on debt and replacement of military hardware.

“The wounded are coming home, and many of them have severe brain and spinal injuries, which will require round-the-clock care for the rest of their lives,” said Michael McConnell, Great Lakes regional director of the AFSC, a peace group affiliated with the Quaker church.

The $720 million figure breaks down into $280 million a day from Iraq war supplementary funding bills passed by Congress, plus $440 million daily in incurred, but unpaid, long-term costs.

I would be remiss if I didn’t take a minute to express some gratitude to Mark Glenn and the other folks organizing the No More Wars For Israel conference in southern California for inviting me to be on the roster of slated speakers at this forum. This event promises to be an exciting and enlightening experience for all in attendance. I look forward to meeting and talking with many of the writers, academics and activists who have had such a powerful influence on my own thinking and my own awakening.

Yes, we must stand against world Zionism and Jewish supremacism. We must not shy away from wrestling with the three most taboo topics in all the universe, those being organized Jews, international Zionism and the terrorist country of Israel. Until we tackle all of these subjects and many more, we will never have freedom. We will be serfs in our own nations, second-class citizens subjugated by a fiefdom of wealthy media magnates, banking kingpins and totalitarian politicos who tell us what we can and cannot say. I don’t wish to live in such a world.

What the No More Wars For Israel conference is all about is simply a group of patriots and thinkers uniting to oppose the planet’s most archaic and supreme hatred, a hatred that if unopposed, will bring every corner of the earth to slavery and to ruination. The Dream Act: A New Illegal Alien Amnesty

Those bastards in Congress are doing it again. They’re trying to sneak through a thinly-veiled amnesty for illegal aliens after it has been made crystal clear to them that the American people DO NOT WANT AN AMNESTY and do not want this country turned into Northern Mexico. As always, what we want is being completely ignored by our “lords and masters” in the United States government, who are leaning over and spitting in our faces once again.

The Center for Individual Freedom reports on its web site that “Amnesty for illegal aliens is back–sneaking down the corridors of Congress, tiptoeing into the Senate chamber, hoping to become law before you and I know it’s even there. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) recently warned America that Dick Durbin (D-IL) — one of the Senate’s most left-wing ideologues — and other liberals plan to tack the so-called Dream Act as an amendment onto the 2008 Defense Authorization Bill any day now. The Dream Act, which should really be called Amnesty III will be voted on this week.”

CFIF continues: “Our elected leaders have continually tried to ram amnesty down the throats of the hard-working, tax-paying American people, and twice we have rammed it right back down their throats. And apparently they’ve gotten the message. That’s why they’ve given up on plans to pass amnesty for millions of illegal aliens openly, and are now trying to do it incrementally and under the cover of darkness. The American people oppose amnesty. Democrats know this. So why are our elected officials thumbing their noses at the millions of ordinary people who elected them?”

What Really Happened in Jena

Everyone in America has now heard of Jena, Louisiana, and its alleged racial abominations. Its crimes are said to be so great that on Sept. 20, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton had to lead a massive “civil rights” march through the sleepy town of 3,000 to drag it into the modern era. Young blacks from all over the country took part, many comparing the demonstration to events in Selma or Birmingham half a century ago.

It takes some digging to find out what actually happened in Jena, but we are not witnessing a return to Jim Crow. Although blacks have treated LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters like a reincarnation of Bull Connor, the more closely his actions are examined the more reasonable they seem. These events have become a rallying cry for “civil rights” for only one reason: The national media have shamelessly warped them to fit the pattern of unregenerate Southern bigotry. Here is what actually happened.

The Nooses

On August 30, 2006, there was a back-to-school assembly for boys only at Jena High School. An assistant principal covered rules, dress codes, etc., and called for questions. One black asked a question that was clearly a joke: Could blacks sit with whites under a particular shade tree in the school’s courtyard. Everyone in the room laughed. The assistant principal answered that, of course, anyone could sit wherever he liked. There were a number of other questions—some funny, some serious—and the assembly broke up in good spirits.

National commentators have assumed whites had been keeping blacks away from the tree, but no one in Jena says this. There are places where whites often sit and places where blacks often sit, but there are no rigidly enforced boundaries. The question would not have gotten a big laugh if there had been tension about who could sit under the tree.

Nothing more clearly illustrates this point than what has occurred over the past year in Jena, Louisiana and the orgy of hatred that Jena has suffered. today, September 20, the town has been invaded by thousands of thugs like Al Sharpton who seek to make violent Black hate criminals such as Michael Bell and the rest of the so-called “Jena Six” into heroes. Judge Michael Mukasey and his wife, both Orthodox Jews, have been long-time supporters of the most radical elements of the Jewish community in New York and Israel. His wife Susan was one of the biggest fundraisers in New York for the illegal Jewish settlements on Palestinian land. Their actions have been directly against the stated policies of the United States for the last 35 years; but when it comes to Israel, Jewish appointees do not find it necessary to be loyal to the interests of the United States or humanitarian concerns.

It took tremendous courage for Congressman Jim Moran to tell Tikkun magazine of the power and influence of AIPAC and other sections of the Israel Lobby. AIPAC is often described in the media as the most powerful lobby in Washington, D.C., so it is no surprise that its friends and supporters are now mobilizing to vilify Congressman Moran’s comments in the Sept/Oct issue of Tikkun. 

In the last few days major media have been publishing attacks on Congressman Jim Moran, distorting what he said. Now that attack has been joined by a leader of the Republican party and a leader of the Democrats in Congress, and their distortions are even more incredible.  House Republican Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor likened Congressman Moran to Adoph Hitler on September 18th. “Unfortunately, Jim Moran has made it a habit now to lash out to the American Jewish community. I think his remarks are reprehensible, I think his remarks are anachronistic, and hearken back to the day of Adolph Hitler, of the others, Mein Kamp, of the protocols of the elders of zion, other sources that have become reference to now, I’m sorry to say, a resurgent anti-semitic sentiment world wide.” And House Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer issued a statement which seemed to add to the witch hunt by stating that Moran had claimed that “the Jewish community controls the press, the media, the Congress, and other institutions” and that therefore Moran “certainly oughtta retract remarks, and indicate he believes that he was inaccurate on the facts.”

Congressman Moran said no such thing.

Jewish Diversionary Tactics: Greenspan Blames “Oil” for Iraqi War

Every day, more and more people are becoming aware of real cause of the war in Iraq: a deliberate plan by Jew and Christian Zionist fanatics to destroy a country which had never harmed the USA, was not involved in 9-11 and which was an openly declared enemy of Al-Qaeda – but which was the single greatest threat to Israel.

As knowledge of the real cause of the war spreads, so the guilty parties become ever more frantic in their attempts to cover up their tracks, and to create diversions to try and mislead the public.

This is the primary cause of many of the “9-11 conspiracy theories” which include bizarre allegations of missiles hitting the pentagon, radio-controlled aircraft hitting the WTC, pre-dynamited buildings and other weird distortions of logic which are circulated – and, not surprisingly, given a little bit of publicity in the controlled mass media.

The other great diversionary tactic which is often used is to try and explain the Iraq War as a war for oil”. Faced with the mass of evidence showing the real cause of the war, the powers-that-be desperately seek to “explain” the Iraqi invasion “because of oil.”

The latest effort to create a diversion away from his fellow tribesmen’s guilt is the Jew Alan Greenspan, former US Federal Reserve chairman, who, in his memoirs just released, has claimed that the “U.S. went to war in Iraq motivated largely by oil.”

“I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil,” he writes in his book The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World.

The truth is, of course, that if the war in Iraq had been about oil, it would have been much cheaper just to have purchased the oil from Saddam Hussein…

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC or ALIPAC is launching a national campaign to try and stop Senator Durbin’s Dream Act Amendment, which would provide Amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, give them taxpayer subsidized in-state college tuition rates and place them ahead of American students.

“This is the Bad Dream Amnesty Act,” says William Gheen of ALIPAC. “This legislation would replace American students in the limited seats in college at taxpayer expense! Our organization has helped to defeat this measure many times on the state level and now we will try to stop the Senate from passing it.”

ALIPAC helped defeat in-state tuition measures in three states including North Carolina, where polling data by the Civitas Institute shows that over 81% of likely voters oppose “Dream Act” legislation. The legislation was defeated in NC, VA, and even Massachusetts by large margins!

“This legislation will harm American students and families while rewarding illegal aliens. It will cost taxpayers billions of dollars and provide another big incentive for people to illegally immigrate to the United States,” says Gheen. “Four out of five Americans want the Senators to say No to the Dream Act and any Visa increases.
