Can Truth Retain Its Independence?

Justin Raimondo has a good column this morning on Antiwar.com. It is written as a fundraiser. But what it shows is that journalists (and whistle-blowers) who tell the truth in America are more likely to be pummeled than rewarded, whereas those who lie for powerful interest groups live high on the hog.

It wasn’t just Bush, Cheney, and the neoconservatives who deceived us into an illegal war in behalf of a hidden agenda. It was the American media. Raimondo names some of the culprits who are complicit in the deaths of some one million Iraqis, an unknown number of Afghans, and thousands of American soldiers.

It was all for a lie. A lie told by the President of the United States and his handmaidens in the media.

Two of the worst handmaidens, Billy Kristol and Thomas Friedman, have been rewarded for their treachery to America by the New York Times, which pays these men, who have never been right about anything, to pontificate from columns on its pages. Others, such as Peter Beinart, are installed at the Washington Post and other publications.

The benefit of being a name columnist at a name newspaper is that it puts you on the lucrative speaking circuit. Raimondo reports, for example, that Friedman is paid $65,000 for a speech.

Such extravagant fees are not paid for words of wisdom. They are paid by interest groups for service. Even if Friedman had anything intelligent to say, it is unnecessary to pay him $65,000 to repeat what he writes in the New York Times.

The same interest groups that control the government offer the most extravagant fees on the speaking circuit. Global corporations that are driving up their stock prices and management bonuses by moving American jobs offshore reward journalists who write propaganda about the benefits of globalism. The military-security complex rewards journalists that feed hysteria about terrorism and foreign threats. (more…)

Where did Mexico’s blacks go?

The nearly complete absorption of Mexico’s identifiably African people offers an intriguing contrast to the persistence of a rather distinct black race in the United States.

Most Americans, and even many Mexicans, don’t realize that a significant fraction of the Mexican population once looked markedly African. At least 200,000 black slaves were imported into Mexico from Africa. By 1810, Mexicans who were considered at least part-African numbered around a half million, or more than 10 percent of the population.

Mexican music, for example, has deep roots in West Africa. “La Bamba,” the famous Mexican folk song that was given a rock beat by Ritchie Valens and a classic interpretation by Los Lobos, has been traced back to the Bamba district of Angola.

What’s especially ironic about Mexico’s “racial amnesia” — a term coined by African-American historian Ted Vincent — is that during Mexico’s first century of independence, more than a few of its most famous leaders were visibly part black.

Emiliano Zapata (pictured left) was perhaps the noblest figure in 20th century Mexican politics, a peasant revolutionary still beloved as a martyred man of the people. Although Marlon Brando played him in the 1952 movie “Viva Zapata!” the best-known photograph of the illiterate idealist shows him with clearly part-African hair. His village had long been home to many descendents of freed slaves.

Similarly, Vicente Guerrero, a leading general in the Mexican War of Independence and the new nation’s second president, appears from his portraits and his nickname to have been part black.

Perhaps African-Mexicans were so often leading the revolutionary vanguard because they were even more oppressed by law than Mexico’s Indians. Back in the 16th century, the great Spanish Bishop Bartolome de las Casas, the first modern human rights activist, in the sense of battling for justice for another race, persuaded the King of Spain to ban the enslavement of Indians, at least nominally. Yet, bondage for Africans remained legal until “El Negro Guerrero” officially abolished it in 1829. It had largely withered out before then, however.

The apparent assimilation of Mexico’s ex-slaves into the overall gene pool is in marked contrast to America’s experience, where the black race has remained relatively distinct. In the average self-declared white American’s family tree, there is only the equivalent of one black out of every 128 ancestors, according to the ongoing research of molecular anthropologist Mark D. Shriver of Penn State University and his colleagues.

Teddy Kennedy’s Horrible Legacy for America

Instead of a rich legacy bequeathed upon the United States by forever U.S. Senator Teddy Kennedy, the oft-intoxicated, blubbery fourth brother of the Kennedy clan—four decades ago–drunkenly drove over a bridge that caused the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and lied about what happened.

But his worst and most destructive legacy for the United States stems from his authorship of the 1965 “Immigration Reform Act” that added the bulk of our additional 100 million people into America within 40 years. It jumped legal immigration from 170,000 annually to 1.1 million annually. Added to that disastrous environmental legacy, his actions provoked a complete ethnic change of our stable society into a fractured civilization. How? He provided for entrance of immigrants from cultures totally incompatible with U.S. culture. He downgraded citizenship by not enforcing our laws or maintaining educational standards.

As those immigrants poured into this country, he facilitated and languished as millions of illegal aliens marched across our borders to wreak havoc on our schools, communities, jobs, hospitals, language and prisons. Over 20,000 members of MS-13 gangs distribute $130 billion in drugs yearly. We pay for 400,000 babies born to illegal alien mothers annually. We suffer 28 million Americans on food stamps because illegals downgrade wages and take jobs from our working poor.

Kennedy single handily planted the seeds for the destruction of our country per the words of President Teddy Roosevelt, “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, or preventing all possibility of its continuing as a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.”

How did Kennedy answer that crisis of unrelenting illegal border crossing? He proposed, wrote and encouraged Ronald Reagan to sign the 1986 Immigration Amnesty that allowed what he said were only 1.3 million illegals. The true number of illegal aliens that gained instant citizenship became 4.3 million.

Later, Reagan said signing that amnesty was the worse mistake of his presidency.

Israel: A History of Hate Crimes

Israel provided a textbook example of a “hate crime” when Orthodox Jews gathered and publicly burned hundreds of New Testament Bibles last week. The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, architect of hate crimes laws worldwide, says a hate crime occurrs whenever violation of the law is motivated by bias against an identifiable protected group of people (like Jews, Muslims, or homosexuals). It also says it is a hate crime to desecrate or destroy the sacred books of another religion.

The deputy mayor of Or Jehuda, in southern Israel, was obviously motivated by bias against Christianity and its sacred book, the New Testament. Because of his bias, he incited dozens of Jewish religious students to burn the Christian scriptures. According to ADL criteria, this was a hate crime.

ADL—Israel’s public relations rep to the world—holds up the Jewish state as a model of judicial fairness and perspective. If ADL were consistent, it would require from Israel the same responsibility to pursue hate crime indictments as elsewhere. It would pressure the government of Israel to indict the deputy mayor and all who participated. Yet ADL, in its recent press statement, doesn’t hint that Bible burning in Israel is a hate crime.

ADL hate laws demand that Christians in Canada, Australia, Europe and America be punished with triple penalties if their “homophobia” motivates an infraction of the law. If ADL were true to its own principles, it would demand similar harsh penalties for the “Israeli Bible-burners.”

After all, that’s what ADL’s national executive board member (Philly DA Lynne Abraham) wanted to give 11 Christians for the “hate crime” of peaceful witnessing to homosexuals in 2004. (See, “Eleven Christians Jailed For Criticizing Homosexuality“) She wanted 47 years in prison and a $90,000 fine each in punishment! Shouldn’t ADL demand that the Israeli Bible-burners be similarly punished?

The least ADL should require from Israeli authorities is the same harsh penalties its Canadian hate laws impose on Christians. One victim of ADL wrath was Toronto printer Scott Brockie who refused to print homosexual literature. Legal entanglements cost him at least $171,000; he was bankrupted.

Update On The Campaign Of The Nationalist Coalition’s John Ubele, Pro-White Candidate For Florida House District 46

Back in September 2007, I first introduced you to the candidacy of John Ubele (pictured at left), who’s running for the District 46 seat in Florida’s House of Representatives. Ubele is the Operations Manager for the Nationalist Coalition, and so is unmistakeably a pro-white candidate. Thus his candidacy is just as important to America’s greater white comuunity as it is to those living within the boundaries of HD 46.

However, Florida electoral deadlines are fast approaching, and we want to make sure Ubele’s candidacy is not forgotten. June 16th is the filing deadline for any other candidates. If no one else files for this seat, none of the three candidates in this race will face primary opposition on August 26th, and so they will have a clean shot through November 4th.

John Ubele is running as “NPA”, or “No Party Affiliation”, which is an officially recognized category in Florida. This is his second try at elective office, having run unsuccessfully for a Pasco Mosquito Control Board seat (and having visited Florida myself, I can personally attest that this is a MUCH MORE IMPORTANT OFFICE than appears at first glance). Access his official campaign website HERE. Ubele’s campaign finance page reveals that he’s received only $910.31 to date; all from individuals, no PACs or special interests. However, Ubele is opposed by two other candidates, each representing the establishment parties.

Representing the Republicans is incumbent John Legg. Legg is more than just a Representative; he’s also the Deputy Majority Whip of the Florida House, and is the Vice-Chair of the K-12 Committee. Thus he wields more power than the average Representative, which he can bring to bear during the campaign and use it to project an artificially-inflated value of his candidacy. Legg has his own page on the VoteSmart website; an examination of the various contents indicates a solid conservative rating from pro-business and pro-family groups. Legg’s campaign finance page reveals that of this post, he’s raised $36,500, much of it from PACs and other special interest groups. Was World War II worth it?

In the Bush vs. Putin debate on World War II, Putin had far the more difficult assignment. Defending Russia’s record in the “Great Patriotic War,” the Russian president declared, “Our people not only defended their homeland, they liberated 11 European countries.”

Those countries are, presumably: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Finland.

To ascertain whether Moscow truly liberated those lands, we might survey the sons and daughters of the generation that survived liberation by a Red Army that pillaged, raped and murdered its way westward across Europe. As at Katyn Forest, that army eradicated the real heroes who fought to retain the national and Christian character of their countries.

To Bush, these nations were not liberated. “As we mark a victory of six decades ago, we are mindful of a paradox,” he said:

For much of Eastern and Central Europe, victory brought the iron rule of another empire. V-E day marked the end of fascism, but it did not end the oppression. The agreement in Yalta followed in the unjust tradition of Munich and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Once again, when powerful governments negotiated, the freedom of small nations was somehow expendable. … The captivity of millions in Central and Eastern Europe will be remembered as one of the greatest wrongs in history.

Bush told the awful truth about what really triumphed in World War II east of the Elbe. And it was not freedom. It was Stalin, the most odious tyrant of the century. Where Hitler killed his millions, Stalin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot and Castro murdered their tens of millions.

Leninism was the Black Death of the 20th Century.

The truths bravely declared by Bush at Riga, Latvia, raise questions that too long remained hidden, buried or ignored.

If Yalta was a betrayal of small nations as immoral as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, why do we venerate Churchill and FDR? At Yalta, this pair secretly ceded those small nations to Stalin, co-signing a cynical “Declaration on Liberated Europe” that was a monstrous lie.

From Publisher’s Weekly —  Will Peter Schaefer’s new book, Jesus in the Talmud (Mar.), be controversial? “I’m afraid so,” Schaefer told RBL. “That’s why I’m nervous.”

His editor at Princeton University Press, Brigitta van Rheinberg, laughed but agreed: “You think, oh, whoa, this is not going to go over well in certain circles.”

Schaefer, who heads up Princeton’s Judaic studies program, has collected and analyzed all the passages in the Talmud that apparently refer to the founder of Christianity, texts that were previously censored from Talmud editions for centuries. In his book he argues—against other scholars—that the scandalous passages indeed refer not to some other figure of ancient times but to the famous Jesus of Nazareth. (more…)

“Canadian newspaper readers are being warned not to expect a balanced opinion from their dailies after executive orders from the country’s largest media corporation were given to run a select number of national editorials and homogenize remaining editorials across the country so as not to, among other things, reflect negatively on Israel’s occupation of Arab land. “Late last year, columnist Stephen Kimber says, the editing of his writing became more and more inexplicable. It wasn’t so much dropped commas or the introduction of errors. Sometimes he would open the newspaper, the Halifax Daily News, and find that his opinions had been removed. ‘I put up with that for a while, then I began to censor myself,’ said Kimber. ‘I would remember, ‘No, I’m not supposed to write about that.’ Kimber had been writing his column without such concerns for 15 years. But things changed, he said, after CanWest Global Communications took over his newspaper and 135 others last summer.

Respected Astronomer The Latest Holocaust® Victim

Dr. Nicholas Kollerstrom, a respected astronomer and author, is the latest scientist to discover the limits of academic freedom in the Western world.

Until recently Dr. Kollerstrom was an honorary fellow of University College London. His views as a science historian were sought by scientific journals and media organizations, such as the BBC in its report on new research concerning the planet Neptune. (Illustration: Dr. Nicholas Kollerstrom is seen on set at recent TV interview with noted British revisionist, Lady Michele Renouf. )

Yet on 22nd April University College abruptly terminated his fellowship, without any consultation or right of appeal. Dr Kollerstrom’s offence was to have published sceptical views about scientific aspects of the Holocaust on the CODOH website, based in America. At no time had he promoted these views within University College, or done anything to bring the college into disrepute.

The London based Jewish Chronicle duly boasted about Dr Kollerstrom’s dismissal on the front page of its 25th April edition.

On 7th May Dr Kollerstrom first became acquainted with Lady Renouf to seek advice on whether he could expect to travel safely to Germany where he hoped to present his paper The Walls of Auschwitz - a review of the chemical studies to the Berlin Conference on 15th-18th May. (more…)

War Abroad, Poverty at Home

The US Senate has voted $165 billion to fund Bush’s wars of aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq through next spring.

As the US is broke and deep in debt, every one of the $165 billion dollars will have to be borrowed. American consumers are also broke and deep in debt. Their zero saving rate means every one of the $165 billion dollars will have to be borrowed from foreigners.

The “world’s only superpower” is so broke it can’t even finance its own wars.

Each additional dollar that the irresponsible Bush Regime has to solicit from foreigners puts more downward pressure on the dollar’s value. During the eight wasted and extravagant years of the Bush Regime, the once mighty US dollar has lost about 60% of its value against the euro.

The dollar has lost even more of its value against gold and oil.

Before Bush began his wars of aggression, oil was $25 a barrel. Today it is $130 a barrel. Some of this rise may result from run-away speculation in the futures market. However, the main cause is the eroding value of the dollar. Oil is real, and unlike paper dollars is limited in supply. With US massive trade and budget deficits, the outpouring of dollar obligations mounts, thus driving down the value of the dollar.

Each time the dollar price of oil rises, the US trade deficit rises, requiring more foreign financing of US energy use. Bush has managed to drive the US oil import bill up from $106 billion in 2006 to approximately $500 billion 18 months later–every dollar of which has to be financed by foreigners. (more…)

Burning New Testaments in “Democratic” Israel

Millions of Christians have been incensed in the last several days over public burning of New Testaments in Israel. Hundreds of New Testaments were distributed by Messianic (Christian) Jews in the predominantly Jewish Orthodox town of Or Yehuda. But the town’s mayor, Uzi Aharon, had Jewish religious students gather the New Testaments and burn most of them next to a synagogue.

Is this an act of isolated bigotry?

No. Burning of the New Testament is a religious duty according to Judaism’s highest religious authority, the Babylonian Talmud. It says “the writings of the minim [Christians] deserve to be burned, even though the holy name of God occurs therein, for paganism is less dangerous than minuth [Christianity].” (Shabbethai 116) (See, “U.S. Government, Talmud Mock New Testament“)

The Chief Rabbinate in Jerusalem, the official religious representative of the state of Israel, upholds the Talmudic view. What about the Israeli government? Will it prosecute Jewish fanatics who increasingly violate the rights of Christian Jews in Israel? Not likely. The government of Israel doesn’t defend persecuted Messianic Jews, even though persecution violates their rights as Israeli citizens. The official attitude is that, as such missionaries have no business proselytizing, the consequences are left to the discretion of local magistrates and police. “A Land Without A People For A People Without A Land”?

For decades, Zionists and Israelis sold to the world the myth that Palestine was a “land without a people for a people without a land.” The truth was far from that. In Palestine lived a thriving society which was far different from the Palestinians you see today who have been dispossessed of all their properties by the Jews. Palestine was also a green productive agricultural land full of rivers. It was far from being the desert that Jews claim to have miraculously turned into a ‘paradise’. The famous “Israeli” Jaffa oranges that are sold all over the world today, existed in fact long before Israel ever appeared on the map of the world and they were the orange of Yafa which is the Arabic name for Jaffa. Some of my Palestinian friends still have their paperwork and documentation that proves their ownership of the Yafa oranges land, but since when was Israel ever held accountable in front of a court of law when it comes to stealing lands and properties. My friends who are the real owners of the Yafa oranges are Christian Palestinians, not Muslims… because Israel looted Christian Palestinians and hunted them away just as it did/does with the Muslims.

When the decision was taken to give Palestine to the Jews, Western powers were complicit in hiding the fact that Palestine was a country that was populated with Palestinians. It was far from being “a land without a people”.

This is what Gold Meir said in a statement to The Sunday Times on June 15th, 1969:

“There is no such thing as a Palestinian people… It is not as if we came and threw them out and took their country. They didn’t exist.”

Over the past several years, the electronic and print media have featured quite a few reports and articles on the problem of corruption in the Los Angeles police department. And it’s a big one - check out the Ramparts scandal. Read LAbyrinth. But what most of them don’t like to mention is the fact that the corrupt cops are overwhelmingly non-white. On the rare occasions when they do mention it, they certainly don’t dwell on it, let alone explore just how so many bad apples have gotten hired to enforce the law. That’s a road they don’t want to go down, because it leads right to affirmative action.

The latest headlines involve a group of cops who were committing home invasion style armed robberies. The ringleader, Ruben Palomares, was sentenced to 13 years in prison last week. Yesterday another non-white former cop, William Ferguson, was sentenced to 102 years for his role in the robberies. His brother, a Long Beach policeman, was also in the gang.

We’ll be seeing more and more of this type of thing in the future, as police hiring standards keep getting lower and lower to allow them to hire enough non-whites to “reflect” the city’s demographics. And I’m not just talking about test scores. That’s bad enough, but it doesn’t even begin to tell the story of how affirmative action has destroyed the hiring standards in law enforcement. Until the push for more non-whites on police forces began a few decades ago, in most cities, applicants for the police academy had to pass rigorous background checks and if they weren’t squeaky clean, they didn’t get in. Ferguson had five felony arrests for burglary- and theft-related offenses before being hired by the Los Angeles Police Department in 1996.

At one point, while trying to cite mitigating factors that might persuade Feess to impose a lesser sentence, Deitch told the judge that the incidents were not sufficiently serious to prevent him from being hired by the Police Department.

The judge shot back:

“To which I can only say, ‘Why?’ ”
